Quick answer

Water a manageable crop patch first, accept overlapping requests, donate new finds before selling duplicates, and use the remaining day for villagers, forage and story progress. Shipping, quests and museum donations all raise Renown; Town Rank 10 unlocks the Mines.

Before you start

The actionable checklist

  1. 01Water crops before leaving the farm; expand only when the next morning still feels comfortable.
  2. 02Check the Request Board and combine errands that use the same route or item.
  3. 03Donate the first copy of a new item; ship duplicates for Tesserae and Renown.
  4. 04Use the Farmhouse diary for a manual save before a long or risky outing.
01

Days 1–2: make the farm sustainable

The goal is not a perfectly cleared farm. It is a small loop you can finish without consuming the whole day.

A compact, actively maintained farm plot in Fields of Mistria

Clear with a purpose

Open a path between the house, crop patch and farm exit, then clear only enough soil for the seeds you can water every morning. Keep wood and stone instead of treating every obstacle as day-one work.

Use the house tools

The bed ends the day and autosaves, the diary creates a manual save, the calendar shows birthdays and events, and the starter chest keeps materials available for crafting when its shared-storage option is enabled.

02

Days 3–5: stack progress

Quests do not expire and several can stay active, so accept useful work and finish it when your route naturally overlaps.

Check the Request Board

Choose requests that match crops, forage or people already on today’s route. Keep the Journal open as your source of truth for objectives and turn-in conditions.

Build the Renown loop

Museum donations, shipped goods and completed quests all increase Renown. Claim rank rewards by the Request Board and treat Town Rank 10 as the first major progression target.

03

Days 6–7: review, do not rush

A good first week leaves capacity for week two instead of an exhausted field that is already too large.

Review three bottlenecks

Check whether mornings are limited by watering, inventory space or money. Solve the actual constraint before buying decorations or opening more crop rows.

Prepare for the Mines

Once Town Rank reaches 10 and the unlock quest is complete, switch from general cleanup to a focused mine kit: pickaxe, sword, recovery food and open inventory slots.

Field notes
  • New museum items are usually more valuable as progress than as a one-time sale.
  • Talk to villagers when your route crosses theirs; do not turn friendship into a daily cross-map sprint.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Should I clear the whole farm in week one?

No. Clear direct paths and only the crop space you can maintain. Saved stamina and materials are more useful for quests, town trips and later construction.

What unlock should I aim for first?

Town Rank 10 is a clear early milestone because it unlocks the Mines, opening ore, combat, artifacts and a new progression loop.
