Blacksmithing

Blacksmithing is one of the many skills The Player can use to craft items in Fields of Mistria. Unlike Cooking and Woodcrafting, The Player does not need to obtain recipes to start Blacksmithing. The recipes are available to The Player at the very start of the game, it's just a matter of gathering the proper materials and meeting the skill level requirements to start crafting.

The Blacksmithing menu can be accessed at the anvil in front of the Blacksmith shop. By clicking on an item, the menu will display the crafting time, level requirement, and ingredients needed. Unless The Player has locked the chest, the necessary ingredients can be pulled from both The Player's current inventory and chest inventory.

To increase the Blacksmithing level, The Player needs to continue crafting items in the Blacksmithing menu. As the skill level goes up, The Player will gain access to various skill perks that can help reduce crafting time, reduce the amount of ingredients needed, or add an buff to the item.

Skill Perks

The Blacksmithing skill can be increased by crafting Ingots, Equipment, Tools, and Weapons, at The Blacksmith's Forge.
Trading in collected Essence at  Caldarus' Statue on The Farm allows The Player to gain bonuses to their blacksmithing skill.

Tier 1 (Lvl 1)

Skill Perk		Description	Cost
	Copper Expert	The amount of Copper Ore required to craft Copper Ingots will be reduced by 1.	15
	Time Sensitive I	The Craft Time for all blacksmithing recipes will be reduced by 10 minutes.	10
	Sharp Blacksmithing	Crafting a Weapon will occasionally result in a bonus Sharp Infusion, which grants it an additional +1 Attack Power.	20
	Fortified Blacksmithing	Crafting Armor will occasionally result in a bonus Fortified Infusion, which grants you an additional +4 HP when worn.	20

Tier 2 (Lvl 15)

Skill Perk		Description	Cost
	Iron Expert	The amount of Iron Ore required to craft Iron Ingots will be reduced by 1.	50
	Time Sensitive II	The Craft Time for all blacksmithing recipes will reduce by an additional 10 minutes, bringing the total reduction to 20 minutes.	50
	Leech Blacksmithing	Crafting a Weapon will occasionally result in a bonus Leech Infusion, which restores 1 HP each time it's used to attack a Monster.	45
	Lightweight Blacksmithing	Crafting a Tool will occasionally result in a bonus Lightweight Infusion, occasionally dropping Stamina orbs on use.	45

Tier 3 (Lvl 30)

	Empowered I	Crafting a Tool, Weapon, or Armor will be more likely to result in an available Infused version.	65
	Hasty Blacksmithing	Crafting Armor will occasionally result in a bonus Hasty Infusion, which grants you an additional 4% Speed Boost when worn.	75
	Silver Expert	The amount of Silver Ore required to craft Silver Ingots will be reduced by 1.	75
	Time Sensitive III	The Craft Time for all blacksmithing recipes will reduce by another 10 minutes, bringing the total reduction to 30 minutes.	50

Tier 4 (Lvl 45)

	Empowered II	Crafting a Tool, Weapon, or Armor will be a bit more likely to result in an available Infused version than before.	155
	Gold Expert	The amount of Gold Ore required to craft Gold Ingots will be reduced by 1.	150
	Tireless Blacksmithing	Crafting Armor will occasionally result in a bonus Tireless Infusion, which grants you an additional +4 Stamina when worn.	155
	Time Sensitive IV	The Craft Time for all blacksmithing recipes will reduce by yet another 10 minutes, bringing the total reduction to 40 minutes.	150
