Basics
Obtaining Animals
Animals can be adopted (purchased) from
Hayden's Shop. Adopting an animal from
Hayden allows The Player to choose its species, its color, and whether it is male or female. The Player must also name the animal upon adoption, but can rename them at any time by approaching them and using the inspect key, or using the Animals Page in the Game Menu.
All animals, either adopted or born on the farm, will start as babies and need time to mature. Coop animals take 3 days to mature, while barn animals take 5 days. After they have matured and have reached at least
2 hearts, they may be bred using Heart Shaped Treats, which can be bought from
Hayden's Shop. Currently, all baby animals are hatched or birthed 4 days from the day their parents were bred.
The Player must have either a Coop or a Barn with space to house an animal before being allowed to adopt one. The blueprints for these buildings can be bought from the
Carpenter. Each building has a maximum occupancy limit, however, there does not seem to be a limit to how many buildings The Player can construct (outside of the space and resources required).
Animal Care
The Player can use the bell outside of each building to call all of its animals inside/outside at once. Coop animals can be carried individually in order to take them inside or outside the Coop. While carrying Coop animals, The Player is not able to jump into bodies of water, but The Player is able to take them around town and through buildings.
A
Big Bell can be placed on The Player's Farm to call all
Livestock in and out of their
Coop or
Barn at once, rather than The Player needing to call each buildings'
Animals in or out manually.
Animals only gain friendship when brought outside if the weather is clear (
Sunny /
Wind /
Wind). If they are brought out whilst the weather is not clear (
Rain /
Snow /
Blizzard /
Storm /
Thunderstorm), they will instead lose friendship.
Feeding Animals
Animals can be fed by placing
Hay or
Grass Seed in the trough of the Barn or Coop respectively, or by holding the food and interacting with the animal to hand feed them. Higher grade
Animal Feed can be crafted at
The Mill, this feed can be used in the same way.
Animals will consume
Crops growing on The Farm, if the crop is not harvested before the animal is called outside of their building and they are otherwise unfed. Similarly, animals will also consume
Grass growing around The Farm.
Certain
Forageables and crops can also be hand fed to Animals. After unlocking the
Currency Of Care III Skill,
Cooked Dishes can also be hand fed. Animals will reward more
Shiny Beads based on the dish's star level.
Petting Animals
Petting animals rewards friendship. Animals can be pet by standing in front of them and using the interact key.
An
Animal Sprite Statue can be used to automatically pet any
Livestock housed in the building that the statue is inside of, as long as the statue is kept powered with an
Essence Stone.
Animal Sprite Statues can only be placed inside
Large Coops and
Large Barns.
Animal Products
After unlocking the
Currency Of Care Skill, feeding animals by hand will give
Shiny Beads, which can be offered to the
Chicken Statue for further rewards (costing
10 or
100).
Moving Animals
Animals can be moved between buildings on the farm through the animal's page in the game menu. Requirements to move an animal:
Selling Animals
Adult animals (that are not currently pregnant) can be sold from the main menu of
Hayden's Shop.
Animal sale prices are determined by:
- the number of
s the animal has (the more
s, the more they sell for) - the tier of their color (the rarer the color, the more they sell for)
